I've been waiting to post about this for a while now and it seems to finally be available! Whirlpool has begun making the Kenmore Oasis again with a few modifications!
First and my favorite (because I got to try this out) is Deep Wash. This cycle is exactly how it sounds. It doesn't fill up all the way every time (auto load sensing controls the water level) but it does make sure that every load is SUBMERGED in water. An excellent replacement for the Normal cycle and it really moves the clothes!!!
Second and quite pretty, the impeller is a purply-blue color, it really stands out with the white tub base and shiny chrome drum with the new spiral pattern!
I'm also really excited about this machine because I got to help on some of the work that went into it while interning at Whirlpool this summer! Once I start my full time job there, I may have to get myself one! CLICK HERE TO GO TO Pulsator's LINK |

I'm glad to hear about the Deep Wash option. Is this the only Kenmore washer currently made by Whirlpool? |

Not the only one, there are currently several models made by Whirlpool, mostly lower end stuff. This is the only machine I personally would consider "higher end" that's made by Whirlpool. The others are all on the VMW platform whether they are HE, Hybrid, or Classic versions.
BTW... HE - impeller machine with dispenser drawer Hybrid - impeller machine without dispenser drawer and with Classic control panel Classic - agitator machine with Classic control panel |

The agitator does have four fins as usual, it's just the camera angle. Sears never entirely left Whirlpool, at least in terms of laundry, Whirlpool never stopped making the BOL to MOL top load washers and their matching dryers. They did stop making the Oasis direct drive machines and all front load washers though. |

If you really want to impress me, with the exception of expense, bring back the Calypso.....or at least do a combination of the two, an addition of the waterfall would be a great improvement.....otherwise, you have a plain old Cabrio/Bravos.....which Sears sells anyway!.....normally a Sears model has exclusives that a Whirlpool would not have....what special features does the Kenmore offer that the others don't?....
DeepWash is avaiable on all of the models...I would just like to see something that would make you pick a Kenmore over the others like in the past... what puzzles me is, you having a direct connection with Whirlpool, have you not mentioned and stressed concerns about the 2-LOW of a water level for these machines?....wether its this machine or a FLer....low is one thing, droplets is another.... and you can't tell me they have not gotten calls of customers complaining....even a few from our own members... |

On the Oasis machines, the Deep Wash is exclusively a Kenmore trait. On the VMW machines, it's available for all three brands. I checked several times because I do want the Deep Wash option but Whirlpool employees don't get any sort of discount on Kenmore appliances. I'd have to pay full price. **sigh** |

Sorry dude.....but you need to re-check....THAT is not a Kenmore exclusive!....Cabrio and Bravos already had it first!....
heres our own Darren at the HomeDepot showing the introduction of the DeepWash in a Maytag Bravos....and a Whirlpool link explaining the Deep Water Wash Cycle of the Cabrio CLICK HERE TO GO TO Yogitunes's LINK |

here is a video of Gansky's direct drive cabrio.....these never had an issue with needing more water in the first place....plenty of it, and the sprinkler to boot....

and heres a link to Whirlpool's direct drive version.....and it too offers the Deep Water Wash as well as the belt drives.....
the belt drives did need this option, as well as the sprinkler added..... are you saying theres a whole new Kenmore, a 3rd version, of a different build and design?....nothing like the two already built by Whirlpool? I have been down this road before with Kenmore claiming their Calypso was nothing like the Whirlpool sister.....there was no Kenmore exclusive, and nothing added that made the Kenmore a unique machine, and options that no one else had! This is in reference to the new machines available. With the ever increasing restrictions of water use, it's nice that we can once again buy an Oasis platform machine that has an increased water level as an option. The machine shown is one an Oasis machine from 2009, while it would be nice to have that machine, the general public isn't going to be able to go and pick one up at the local appliance store. I've looked into this quite extensively while at Whirlpool this summer and every Oasis platform machine there that didn't have the Kenmore label did not have a Deep Wash cycle. All of the VMW platform machines do have the cycle but I'd much rather have an Oasis platform machine.
For the direct drive version you linked, look at the manual. There is no Deep Wash cycle listed. There is a Deep Water Soak, but that is not a Deep Wash as it doesn't rinse or spin at all.
I'm not claiming that there is a totally new design, it is an Oasis platform as I've stated several times. The direct drive Cabrio and Bravos are also Oasis platform machines. I'm just saying that for the Oasis platform machines, only the Kenmore has a Deep Wash cycle. |

only reason I can see buying it is because it says "Kenmore Oasis"...
the direct drive, already used plenty of water, without adding a deep water wash cycle.....and it had a sprinkler, which doesn't seem to be of use, but nice that its there... it just seems an option is added that was never needed in the first place....this seems more of a gimmick, I too would have gone with this option in a machine, if I didn't see them side by side, and notice the difference right from the start was based on beltdrive and directdrive....just don't understand why both dont operate the same when it comes to this amount of water... doesn't it seem odd to add more water to a machine that already uses plenty of water?.... now the belt drive needed this DeepWaterWash added, and/or the sprinkler, for none of these added enough water.... I have a 2011 belt drive Cabrio, and wish for this option, or the sprinkler...which would help alot....and I didn't know the direct drive added more water versus the belt drive.....otherwise my choice would have been the directdrive |

A feature I have not seen on the Whirlpool/Maytag top loaders - the ones with the drawer, such as Model# 28002 - is the Oxy Dispense option. It's only available on Kenmore units, as far as I know. On the Whirlpool/Maytag units, the third compartment is just blocked by a big piece of plastic.
The Whirlpool Platinum and the Bravos XL line still have the sprinkler (Catalyst) feature, I think. |

This was the "Sheets" cycle on the Cabrio I had, it filled to the maximum level in the wash and one of the rinses. Additional rinses were the shower/dribble. Is this about the level of "Deep Water Wash" in the new Oasis? Normal cycle filled nowhere near that high just barely visible.
I know of only one Oasis machine, an agitator model from 2006(?). She calls it her "slOasis" because it's rare to have a cycle take less than an hour, double or more what her Whirlpool DD took for a load. Other than the tongue-in-cheek joking about the cycle times, she does like the washer and it's held up well. |

I have one of the original Oasis machines from 2008 with agitator in great running condition. It has an automatic water level that can be overridden to 4 other levels. The highest, fills nearly to the top of the basket save an inch or two.
I Believe the default time on the Delicate cycle is 35 minutes, followed by 42 for Normal or Casuals. I love the machine and it cleans good. Great at removing stains. My only complaint and this was mentioned in consumer reports is that the way the basket holes were stamped is that items could get caught on the holes and string. All of my towels washed in this machine over time would get strings all over them. I don't have the same problem in traditional WP/KM direct drives, belt drives or Maytag Dependable Care machines. |
