No, not talking about the new Mieles here
I'm talking about the Bosch Range I've been waiting for - the Home professional.
Finally the machine which I love, and its matching dryer have finally launched in the UK, and thought I would tell you all - Ok a simplified Miele, maybe, but very good reviews of the machines in Germany, lets hope they do well here.

Gosh, it looks ghastly! Even worse than the usual B/S/H styling!
And all that plastic and oversized chrome door... give me anything else anyday!

These would be my choice, if I had to get a new washer. I also like the Panasonic models - just not really sure about their quality. Miele is nice but crazy expensive, if you want one from the new W1 generation. I like the design - big doors seem common on many washers today...

The drum is only 2.3 cubic feet so... it'll take some force to get all of that in there. And I think the cycle is still about 2.5 hours for a full load, even without the eco setting.

I hope they've finally addressed the issue of the control knob that's difficult to line up with the correct programme?

I've always found Bosch's control knob to be a poor imitation of Miele's novotronic setup.

We've had a Bosch Logixx 8 washer and also a Bosch dryer and it was really hard to figure out what cycle the damn thing was pointing at.

I regularly set the dryer to "iron dry" instead of "mixed load" which was infuriating when you came back >1h later to discover your clothes were just damp!

Don't know if they have mechanically improved the knob but each cycle now has a light next to it so you know which cycle you have chosen.

Wonderful video, thank you for sharing! I like these machines. Today I saw the Siemens equivalent, it looks like they don't have the Hygiene cycle as the Bosch has. That would make Bosch my choice. But I must admit, most of the time I prefer the styling of the Siemens.

Very nice, this is growing on me, the programme controls are a lot clearer with the long neon lights, and like the dispenser compartments, look forward to hearing more about them!!

I usually also prefer Siemens' styling. Siemens added the Allergy (Hygiene) cycle this year. Not sure why this late... but it's there now.

In a recent washing machie test, a Bosch Home Pro achieved the same score as a Miele W5861. It was also the quietest machine.

I also was looking at the Siemens version in John Lewis yesterday with the same dispenser. To be honest am not overly keen on the dosing system, much prefer the idea of an ordinary dispenser. Super looking machines though as seem to be the quietest on sale in JL according to the db's on the energy labels.

I like how you can actually select the kind of stain you have in the menu: coffee, chocolate, sweat, etc.

3 questions: How does the "Leise Waschen" option work? Does the machine rotate more slowly in order to not make as much noise?

What is the color gel compartment? Is that for dyeing fabrics or is it some kind of color fade prevention?

Very impressive machine though, looks and performance wise. Is the Bosch emblem on the outside lens of the door or is it cast into the glass?

Silent Wash options usually lower the spin speed throughout the cycle, may add more water to the rinse cycle, a rinse hold, and deactivate the buzzer.

Gel detergents don't really work for white clothes because the don't have oxy bleach in them, thus BSH suggests to use a Color Gel in this compartment.

The emblem in on the outer plastic door.

The stain settings are nice. Miele even allows three stain settings to be added to a cycle, while Panasonic's Stain Master covers 23 stains.

Thanks for all the Comments :) weren't expecting so many

As far as I am aware its just in a handfull of local retailers, hasn't made it to Curry's, Argos, Ao.com etc yet. It might be launched properly next year - when the models change (they could introduce a 1600 version too), usually April/May in the UK. Currently retailers selling the new Logixx9 WAY28790GB are still selling the Bosch Logixx 9 WAS32760GB, and WAS28761Gb models, just like all other retailers.

@ Logixx - yes its true Miele you can choose 3 types, Panasonic you can choose 1 of 23, etc, but The Siemens machines were the original machines to introduce stain removal selection (in EU), and the choice contains the most common stains, whereas Panasonic/Miele's selection seems over the top to me (too many). Most stains can be washed in the same way anyway, which I think is where the new Indesit Innex stain removal idea has come from, with just 3 stain categories.

@ Front Loader fan - Bosch/Siemens Silent wash carries out normal wash and rinse cycles, but spins are reduced to just 400rpm (therefore no noise from the motor as its quiet anyway). The rinsehold option is automatically chosen (can be deselected so you get a 400rpm final spin) - so the user could turn the dial round to spin in the morning to get a full final spin. The interims are longer to make up for the reduced speed, to deliver same rinse results.

@ Paulc - the one bosch is selling has the standard dispenser (WAY28790GB), and all siemens numbered WM16Y7.. WM14Y7.. WM16Y5.. WM14Y5.. have standard dispensers, its just Siemens WM14Y890GB and Bosch WAS28840GB which have the autodose dispenser's - which are better at saving detergent, but i don't like them too much.

@mrx - its simple, just line up the dial with the line below the programme you want to choose - however these new machines, like the one listed, have LED Lights to indicate the selected programme, so completely normal to understand.

@dj-gabriele - Big doors these days are the in trend, everyone wants them due to there super easy access inside the drum. Meanwhile the latest Miele range is also made of plastic and the same size. The quality of the Bosch is similar to Miele, and the Bosch is also made in Germany. if you can't afford a Miele but want a German built, quite modern Machine, this Bosch would be a good choice, as would the Siemens equivalents.
Lets not forget most people these days think about washing Big Duvets inside, they never do, or maybe do it once a year, but its like they say, I can't get a duvet in a small door like that, I need a bigger one. or a small door - thats a small washer, I want a bigger one.

I think the big doors are also to make the washer and dryer look even more like a matching set. Usually, dryers ahd larger, square doors. Now, they practically have the same door as the washer.
