A local engineer or a Hotpoint/Indesit engineer? Never known them to give a machine to you while one gets fixed, so thats interesting, and an older machine as well? Powerstream is a distribution (or 2) during the main wash - usually when the machine reaches temperature. | ||

A local repair man as he knew I was struggling to get washing done!i thought it was quite nice of him,Yeah it's basically what my mum's wash cycle does on the first edition model Neil | ||

Compared to the jip this damn indesit has given me! I'd love to keep it,I could be waiting up to 10 days as the machine needs the card to re programme it,he's advised the landlord to scrap it Neil | ||

Hi there
I had a Hotpoint WMA58 until last year when it decided to leak from the outer drum, until then it never really had any problems. It was an amazing machine, it was mainly used on program C which is colourfast cottons which is what you're using in the above pic. It does many powerstream (distribution) tumbles during the wash phase. It was a really good wash action, foamed up the detergent nicely and was effective. It laos has a 35oc fast wash which takes 26mins, it took in hot water which was good as the hot water from the boiler would go straight in and give them a nice warm wash when you're in a hurry. Enjoy using it, I do miss that machine sometimes! They had a bad reputation because earlier WMA models had bad bearings etc. | ||

Thanks I am actually enjoying using this machine,I was happy how spotless my tea towels were on a 60c cycle! I usually boil in the indesit,if it was up to me I'd keep it,he's planning on selling it for £165 when I give it back,I'm tempted to buy it myself Neil | ||

My one to be great I only got rid of it cos I got a 9kg machine which broke after a few months. That hotpoint in my opinion is a million times better than the indesit. Not a lot really go on then except the bearings which are pretty easy to do as I find the split tub easy to work on. | ||

Yeah it was nice while it lasted Joe! I'm back to having no machine until the landlord decides whether he's going to buy a new one for the property, This saga has been going on since the beginning of November! I'm really not happy about it at all! It would be a different story if I missed a rent payment! | ||

Uhh... Haier, nevr heard real statements about them... Which model exactly? Would be verry interesting to know how it is. I heard of some Haier washers doing a lot of distri wash phases throughout the wash. Does yours do this either? And how about drying? So much questions to answer ;) | ||

Hi I'm just on my 3rd load at the moment,I've only used the synthetics cycle up to now,and yes it distributes during the main wash,and i can even set the spin speed up to 1200,I'll be using the drying stage after this load has finished so I will let you know! I shall find out the model number for you too :) | ||

Sorry to be the bringing of bad news, Neil, but Haier don't have a great reputation. They've been known to be very unreliable. I didn't think there were actually any Haier branded machines left on the market at present - I haven't seen any for a while. I know that the bog standard Currys Essentials machine is Haier made and some of the basic Argos-own branded (ProAction, HAUS, HEC and Bush) washers were Haier made at one point, those these are all Vestel now, I believe.
My ex had a HAUS branded Haier machine and although it washed well, it took a very long time, was excessively loud and constantly breaking down. The heat element went, then the PCB went and the machine wouldn't stop (it would just continue doing the final rinse over and over again), then the doorlock went and it wouldn't open. It was scrapped after a year or so. Hopefully, their own branded machines might be better in the reliability stakes. I'd certainly be interested in some pics of the machine and how you're finding it. | ||

I had a feeling my landlord wouldn't replace the indesit with anything expensive! I'm currently on my 4th load,I've used the iron dry cycle for pj bottoms and underwear and socks,it seems to be a quiet machine With a quiet spin, Here is a pic of it washing bedding on synthetic 60c,the model no is HWD-C1200
