My washing machine is 7 kilo miele softronic w 5820.

In the past, miele washers were smaller than now, so I presume same was for driers...

Could anyone tell me if the miele t355 will do the job for the capacity of my washer?
It was the little giant of that time.....

It's not the little giant of that time, it was the TOL consumer model, but wasn't bigger than the other consumer models. I love the control panel of that first generation electronic models. Unfortunately these series were not without problems. My mother's best friend had a washing machine from that series. She had loads of problems with it. After lots of repairs it was replaced, IIRC the washing machine was ten years old then.

So here we are!!!!!

dimitris's profile picture
Last week I got it from the previous owner and took it straight to Miele service. They were impressed with its " brand new " condition. The previous owner claimed that they were not using it because they couldn't vent it outside. It is so quite and it is significantly " stronger " than other machines as the air that blows outside comes much stronger than any other domestic dryer I am familiar... and at the same time doesn't get very hot.... It has a beautiful dark blue enamel drum and touch buttons. So far I could not find out the exact age of it. There is a variety of possible dates between middle 70s and middle 80s. Any suggestions??

Miele vented dryers seem to have much more powerful fans than other vented dryers in Europe. They really move a lot of air through the clothes.

That probably allows them to dry at lower temperatures, yet still achieve quite fast results.

Dryers of that era can be a little sore on the electricity bill though!

Looks much better built (must say almost over-built) than the contemporary Miele dryers... ah the time when it was worthwhile to spend on Miele!

A newer series than this dryer was introduced in 1983, so your dryer must be from before that. I can't tell the exact year. If you have the serial number, you can contact Miele Germany (apparently this dryer was originally sold in Germany) for the exact date.
