I have a KUSD23 "Architect Series" white dishwasher, runs perfectly well, Superba model.  How easy would it be to swap out the controls panel with a classic chrome-encrusted KA? Will any 23 series Superba work?

All my other kitchen appliances have chrome, from the lights to the Chambers range and Hotpoint fridge, then there's this excellent dishwasher with the Architect series, darn it.

Anyone want to swap their control panel for this? I have all white appliances and will keep the body panels, just looking for the classic KA chrome look.

It looks like the Architect has more lights and buttons but maybe there's an easy way to mitigate that, or is the black panel pictured not a 23 series?

The door latch is probably a straight-forward exchange.

the black model is meant to represent the overall chrome KA look, I cannot verify what model it is. Maybe this thread should be in shoppers square, looking to swap, if anyone is interested.

SWITCH-A-ROO!

First and foremost, the door panel on the Architect series is NOT the same size as the standard door because the control panel is larger in height. That being said, you would probably be better served looking for a standard Superba machine and transfer the whole door on to your machine. As long as they are both 23 series machine with the Whirlpool Power module pump, you should be able to swap it right out. and you will still have an intact Architect setup if you ever want to go back. You want the whole door WITH the complete wiring harness and all the wiring under the tank as well. That way, if your machine is working fine, all you have to do is disconnect and reconnect.

But when you think about it, if you are going to have to find another Superba to swap doors with, if the found machine works and looks fine, just install the Classic style unit and sell the other or keep it for spares!

Ah, I was hoping the taller control panel simply overlapped the standard size door panel.

Steve has provided his expert advice on how to proceed, so it looks like you'll need to keep an eye out for a 23 Superba.

Full model number

Mark, can you indicate what the actual model number is for your machine, please?
Thanks
Steve

Model #KUDS230BWH0

Serial #FE4647225

I appreciate the input from all, I just thought it would be an easy swap and hoped someone wanted to. The architect series likely sold far less than the chrome iconic look, living with it is lots easier than removing the whole machine. But I am still hoping, yup.
