As work continues on the appliance Museum it has become clear that we have too many appliances and some duplicates, so hopefully we can find some interested appliance lovers to give these good homes.

A few of the pictured appliances may have already been spoken for or belong to others, such as Tom or Jason, if this is the case please let me know, Thanks John.

First up a pair of 1965 LKMs, the washer in a non-suds model with the optional all porcelain cabinet, the dryer is electric, make an offer.

1967 Kenmore 800 washer and electric dryer, only used for a few years and then fully restored by Jason and I, you can drive these anywhere, in some ways they are better than when new. Best offer over $500 for the pair.

John just emailed me about the Philco, Jimmy in Ohio had already claimed them!

So no Philco for this time! I guess I'll have to wait for one with the color bands!

I have one of Jimmy in Ohio's old Blackstones, I'm in the SLOW middle of restoring. He's got a fine collection, I spent a fun afternnon checking it out when I got the washer, and one of these days when a few more of my machines are up and running, I will invite him to see all. Congrats to him on the Philcos, very cool set.

Was the '65 model year the last year for the optional All Porcelain cabinets?

A quick scan through my Sears Catalog scans shows at least some models available in white porcelain until at least 1970.  Now, we all know that what was in the "big book" and what could be had from retail and catalog stores to the walk-in customer varied considerably over the years!

is the GE Americana fridge a Frost-Free model?

GE Americana Ref

combo52's profile picture
Yes [ full Frost Guard with true dual electric thermostat control for the ref and freezer sections, each has its own evaporator fan motor ], this is the wide Americana model with the counter-top in the middle, the ref works but it needs a number of things and could use repainting.

These are great refs, but I currently have FOUR of them, I have had a white one in the W.VA house for more than 15 years that has never missed a beat and another WH one at my partners home for the last 6 months now, they are really convenient refs. These feature a hot gas defrost system that seems to be far more durable than electric defrost systems as the ref ages.

When more stuff gets moved I will try to take more pictures, if someone does not grab it in the meantime.

so many goodies.... the GE Americana is another one I've never seen before - they would compliment someone with a Flair stove, possibly(?). Of your four, which year do you like the best or has worked the longest?
(someone on FB presents a '64).

That photo from Facebook is from Antiquee Appliances in NC. What I find funny is that they don't service anything after 1959, so to see a '64 model on their page made me chuckle a bit.

It looks like everything has been spoken for Except the 63, 70 Coppertone gas dryer and the turquoise Americana refrigerator, I will try to post better pictures of the Americana refrigerator.

Thanks John L.
