I've found a 110.45862400 Kenmore HE3 Elite online for 50 bucks that I'm thinking about picking up. They said it needs a new pump. I asked them about the bearings and she said they were fine but the pump went out.

Either way, for $50 it'd be a good project to learn how washers work...

Unless you guys think it wouldn't be worth it?

Thoughts? Comments?

Best way to learn is to do!  There are plenty of resources online and in the collective knowledge here to help you.

Good luck!

I gambled on one

back in July that has, so far, worked out okay. The one I got needed a new H2O pressure level switch. I picked up an "FSP" branded part on FleaBay, installed it and that did the trick. You may get lucky and there is something jamming the pump. On the machine I bought, when I unscrewed the pump clean out cover, there was a Bic ink pen in there --oh, and pieces of lint. :)

Good luck!

I wouldn't take the sellers word as gospel regarding what repairs may, or may not be, necessary.

Also, aren't some He3 models known for premature boot failures, (happened to friend of mine on a 5 year old machine).

If you do pull the trigger, I'd suggest offering half the asking price for openers.
