Yikes! That's a bit much... I am amazed at how many of these turn up in the Sherbrooke area for around $20-$30!

we have one bought new...

but all the little accessory parts got lost in some long ago move, so now it's just a big blender! Very well made unit.

I came across one, but it was missing all the accessories. It was the soft pushbutton(not the relief button, but flat against the panel).

Unopened box for $10! You have such luck! So...Martin, do you prefer a certain model over another? Are these pretty much all powered in wattage nearly the same? Post some pics if you get time, would like to see the different models and parts that I might need to be looking for.

Thanks so much.

Phil

I will line them up and get some pics for you soon.....but they all seem to be powered about the same....the smooth face touch pads seem to be the easiest to keep clean....

yeah, and keep an eye out for many accessories......or anything that fits an Oster blender will work also....

probably the only thing I don't have is a coffee grinder with the chute.....found one once, but it was part of a whole package at a thrift store, and was not chucking out 50.00 for the whole thing just for that....they wouldn't sell it alone...

I've got numerous of them as well. Still kicking myself for selling the one and only ever plasti-chrome model I had. Never seen another one since. Anyways, hopefully the woman in Florida who bought it from me is enjoying it.

OK Phil....you asked for it.....once I started gathering all the parts, starting to realize I may have gone overboard, and am heading towards a hoarding event....lol....granted I have plenty of spare bowls as well....these two are my favorite ones that I used daily....the one on the right is my first I bought brand new in 1988 for 180.00, notice it starting to fade. it was bright white at one time...

something you may not realize is that BALL canning jars fit the blenders base.....great for things like mayo, smoothies, crushing ice, salad dressings, or sport drinks on the go....add a simple cap, and ready for the fridge.....

Those little chopper attachments like you said work on the standard Oster Blenders. They're really handy for making a quick batch of bruschetta . That newer Oster center along with the Sunbeam Euromixer really look like they were trying to copy the Braun . Sunbeam bought Oster out back in the 60's sometime iirc.

I just snagged this Regency for $7.50, figured it was worth it for the food mill attachment though it's a little modern for my tastes. Can anyone tell me what the correct bowls are for this one? Any special markings to identify them? Thanks- Cory

at those prices Cory....you can't say no.....even for parts alone...

I have been using all the bowls that fit Sunbeam Mixmasters.....and should say "Sunbeam" or "Fireking" on the bottom for the most part, at least the large ones do.....you can find them at most thrift shops and flea markets....never paying more than 5.00 for one....wow, I must have about 30 of them or more...

keep an eye for the stainless ones as well.....

so far, all the attachments, including the jar, for an Osterizer Blender fit these units as well...

these in the link will fit you machine.....and about the best price I could find thru ebay....

Oster Kitchen Center

I LOVE this machine and am so sorry they stopped making them! Got my first one about 16 years ago (The white smooth touch one). It was about $100 on sale at Sterns. Since then I've had 2 more (same model)but never at such a great deal. Now I'm looking to replace my current unit & thinking of getting an older one for the meat grinder & pasta attachments. I already have the ice cream maker, the juicer attachment, and the little chopper piece so if anyone finds a good deal on the mixer, blender, food processor I'd appreciate a link! The meat grinder & pasta accessories would be a nice bonus :)

Martin, all we have left

firedome's profile picture
of the Regency we bought new in '74, almond color with the black face plate and 3 button with Speed Control knob, is the blender base and glass blender jar and lid, but we'd like to get the units needed to re-create the meat grinder feature - do they all interchange and what parts would we need exactly ? Don't need the mixer and other stuff as we got a HD KA model in the 80s and both large and small Cuisinarts, hence we jettisoned the rest of the Oster stuff.... dumb dumb dumb.

with the exception of the Euro models....all heads seem to interchange and fit one another....I have 6 and can change back and forth.....

your gonna need a mixer head for the grinder to function, making sure it has the open port on the back to accept a grinder attachment.....

heres a head to give you an idea.....

That avocado model is the exact one we have (in almond) with the sliding red bar indicator for the speed control knob... looking at all that I can't believe now that we cavalierly just threw out that stuff, including the mixer head and all the rest of the parts... what were we thinking??

Inherited this from the grandmother.  I remember when she got it, it was a gift.

The shredder appears to not been used.

The blender blade seal is missing.

The little knobby piece is missing from the beater release.

I cleaned it up and ran it briefly.  A screeching noise started after a minute or so.  Needs lubrication?  Bad brushes on the motor?

Oster kitchen center preferred model

Hello Everyone, any preferences re which model you like most? My mom had the model with the handle on top for easy moving (the crown regency). I am curious about model 5500; any thoughts re it’s durability, pros/cons when compared to the crown regency model?

This thread is ancient, but I'm looking for an Oster Kitchen Center. As Yogitunes kindly posted his collection, I assembled photos of what I think I would like. The newest one looks to be the modern, straight line machine with touch button controls. I'm guessing that they are all about the same, with attachments. Who uses these anymore; there's so many for sale on Ebay, but fewer of the ones I posted in photos here.

Brings back memories. My culinary arts classroom had a few of these that we used all the time. Unfortunately one died when a classmate dunked the entire machine into a sink full of water to clean it because she didn't know that you couldn't submerge an electrical appliance to clean it. God I hope she married rich.

Side note is that all the bowls and attachments were run through a KDI-17 after class.
