The Nutone hood looks like a 36". It seems that many 40" ranges aren't matched to a same size hood. I haven't installed my Nutone V50 hood over my 40" range yet but I'll have the same problem as others as mine is 8" too large for the range!
Mine has two single speed motors, on low speed, just one motor turns and on high speed, both turn. I'm wondering if the one on the ad above has a similar setup or if it's the shape of the light shield that we see?
Here's how it looked like in the previous owner's kitchen. I'm still wondering how it will look like over my 1959 range.
