This older (1970s) Maytag washer works. The timer does not advance so the cycles have to be manually started and stopped. This is an easy fix. It stills washes just fine as it is. Email or call, don't text

That's a damn nice washer.

It is a top-of-the-line second-series A806. There were three basic versions of the 806 over the years; I have both the first and the third.

This machine is the best version of the three. It has the larger selection of cycles like the third version, but it has the nicer trim of the first version.

You would be oh-so-happy with one of these in good condition. As Phil says, the timer is not a big deal.

This is a large-capacity, two-speed washer. It was Maytag's top-of-the-line dial-control machine at the time.

If you want a Maytag, this is the one to get. It has a softener dispenser, a bleach dispenser, four water levels, two speeds and more cycles than you can shake a stick at. The control panel lights up, and it is a dream to use. It cost around $400 new, at a time when a Lady Kenmore went for $239.95.

I urge you to go for it.

Call, make an appointment ASAP and GO. Machines like that don't hang around long.

Especially not for $25.

You're very welcome. I'd like to nab a set of these one day, too. I was just lucky...now if I could just translate that to finding a meteorite ...I could really start an appliance collection! Good luck to you! Hope it works out.

It IS fishing. You have to keep on putting your hook in the water, and sometimes you go home empty-handed, but eventually you get the bite you were looking for.

When you call Craigslist sellers, you often get strange reactions, like, "I done sold that a month ago." Like you're an idiot for not knowing that they sold it when they didn't bother to delete their ad! Some people....

I have not seen an email from you. My email address is danemod@netzero.net . Note that is is (dot) NET instead of (dot) COM.

Keep up with your local Craigslist and call right away when something is of interest. Try to go look at the item right away if you can; if you make an appointment for later in the week, you will often find that the item has been sold in the meantime. No seller is going to hold an item without payment just because you said you were coming to look at it in a few days - they will sell it to the first person who shows up with cash in their hand.

R.A.T.S.! Really Annoying That Snucks! But you will prevail...and I do feel bad for posting an ad that was around for a while, knowing that price would have brought all kinds of out the sudsworks.

$25 yikes! no wonder its long gone. At that price you'll get srcappers sniffing around.

Hope it went to good home, judging from the console and buttons that baby was in A1 condition.
