That is the dishwasher my family had in the house in Cedar Falls when I was growing up. My sister and I would put stuff animals in the green upper rack and would spin them round and round and round. :)
It was built in, and I do remember my Dad going to Sears to get some parts in the late 80's so he could get it running again. They ripped it out around 93/94 or so. Ben |

....An upper-MOL unit, a model or two beneath the Lady Kenmore. The clues are the array of pushbuttons and a dial (LK's had pushbuttons only, plus lighted cycle indicators - no dial at all), and the full-width hose console at the rear of the worktop - lesser machines had a smaller console. It's about a 1972 or '73 model - Sears started using plastic for hose consoles in, I think it was, 1974, instead of the extruded aluminum seen here. It's porcelain inside. Thin porcelain, mind you, but porcelain.
What's odd here is that I haven't seen a machine before that was so high up in the line that has a Formica top instead of the maple top. For a Sears machine of the era, it's nice, but it's still a D & M-built dishwasher. |

OMG! THAT is the dishwasher that the neighbours across the street from us had when I was a kid. When I moved out of the family home in the 80s I remember telling Mme. Martin, the owner of the house and dishwasher that if she ever moved, I wanted it.
Well in 1995, my father called me to say that she was moving and apparently had a dishwasher for me, so he bought it and rolled it across the street into his garage. I was very, very, very disappointed when I found that the dishwasher was in fact a late 80s Kelvinator (WCI) and not the Kenmore... I cried, what can I say... |
