Eh, don't knock it! It was one of the last appliances (along with maybe a chest or manually-defrosting upright freezer) that WCI could reputably build w/ the old Frigidaire/Gibson/Kelvinator/(White) Westinghouse names...
That could actually hold up better than anything you could trust to do your dishes and laundry in--and even cook with; their ever-cheapening, Taking the Short-Cut Manufacturing, 101 ranges...! Saw one of these (a THREE-DOOR, too, I think) at my nearby Salvation Army store, though when they admittedly HAD TO let go of the Food-A-Rama moniker! -- Dave |

....A Foodarama is like seeing your favorite movie star of thirty years ago, face all puffed up and pulled back, hair thinning and dyed and the once-beautiful body thickened and stooped.
Yeah, it goes by the same name, but time has done a number on it! P.S.: Anyone trying to get a freezer door gasket for a 30-year-old WCI product - I wish 'em lots of mazel. |
