These are pictures of the baseplate center post and outer tub prior to clean-up... I was talking to John on the phone today... wanted him to see what it looked like prior to cleaning it up.... I will post the cleaned up pictures after I download them.. this washer and dryer are in fantastic condition, no rust on the cabinet or suspension mounts... dryer needed a drum wheel over the motor, the there was no metal housing left in the drum roller causing it to rub and pit the shaft leaving metal fragments all over the motor.. which according to John due to it dragging caused the belt to wear on the idler pulley leaving grooves... I just thought those were for the adjustable drum speed... ( nice to have someone who has worked on these units to ask questions... Thanks John ) Seals for the blower, were not there, due to age, other than that not much needed for the dryer.. now I am starting on the washer.. I did work on my mothers Harvest gold washer back in the mid 70's, But had forgotten a lot, I talked to John today regarding the washer bearings, seals, tranny fluid etc now ready to tackle the washer.... will post more pics after......... Thanks John !!!!

Here is the drum belt Idler pulley with the grooves I thought were supposed to be there for the dual speed.. sorry for the blurry images, When ever I go in the basement to work on the washer or dryer my Maine Coon kittens are down there thinking they are helping me or they sit there and supervise me working on them.

LDG9800 And LDA9800 Rebuild

Hi Jim it is neat to see some pictures of the machines we have been talking about.

These machines are the Harvest Gold set the came from Kevin in California, that originally came from Love Puppy ?

In any event, I am sure that you will get them in great shape, I have never seen a dryer idler pulley that badly worn, it is great that you were able to find a new one for this unusual variable speed tumble application.

The center-post on the washer actually looks pretty badly rusted, I think we should think about sleeveing the outside of the center-post with a SS sleeve like I did on several WP rebuilds we did.

Keep us posted, John.
