Greetings everyone ... here's a photo of a 1930 "Standard" electric dishwasher/sink. I'm assuming that "Standard" was the precursor to "American Standard" brand plumbing fixtures.

Loads more photos on the Flickr site, listed below. Great site for those interested in the vintage American bungalow style.

And is that a disposer under the sink too?  Wow.  Very modern living.

What a fascinating site! Some of those bathrooms were pretty dramatic. We had friends with deep maroon, almost purple bath fixtures in the downstairs bathroom. Their home might have dated from the 30s. They were the ones with the Apex dw.

Up until now, I was only aware of three manufacturers of Electric Sinks in the 1920's and 1930's: Kohler, Conover, and Walker - purchased by GE in 1930.

You might be absolutely correct in stating that Standard, later became American Standard. And thus, there is a forth Electric Sink manufacturer from that era.

From the font used in the last pic, it's clear that this sink was made by the Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company which merged with the American Radiator Company to form American Standard.

It is indeed the “Standard" part of American Standard

According to Wikipedia, In 1929 Standard Manufacturing Company consolidated with the American Radiator Company to form the American Radiator and Standard Sanitary Corporation. The heritage of American Standard began in 1892, when industrialist John B. Pierce's business, Pierce Steam Heating Company, merged with independent manufacturers to form the American Radiator Company. In 1929, the American Radiator Company merged with the Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company (founded in 1875) to form the American Radiator and Standard Sanitary Corporation. The plumbing division, Standard Sanitary, would continue to sell their products under the "Standard" label until 1967, when the company changed its name to American Standard Corporation. The American Standard label has been used for both divisions from that year on….PAT COFFEY

According to the book “A Walk in The Park” The History of Appliance Park, General Electric put the first garbage disposal on the market in 1935…..PAT COFFEY

The dishwasher/sink shown is in "Ming Green", which was available until sometime around 1959. The bathroom in my house (built in 1952) had Standard fixtures in this color. The commode got broken sometime in the 80's, and was replaced with one that was a lighter green called "Honeydew". I still have the tub (sitting in the basement) and the newer toilet. The sink, which was in a countertop, was cracked so it went in the dumpster. It had been installed in 1958 to replace a wall mounted model, which I assume the plumber took away at that time.

The maroon color Tomturbomatic mentioned would be "T'ang Red" if the fixtures were Standard brand.

The thing under the right side is a swing-out garbage container.
