very nice machines. Lots of extra options can be used on different cycles and ability to modify set cycles. You could just about set the washer to do whatever even set it to soak for up to nine hours then go thru it's cycle. The only thing it didn't have was a heater to maintain hot temps. but than again, I don't think there is any TL with a heater built into it.

Yes, there are several but they are all HE machines.  Maytag's TOL Neptune TL (FAV9800) was possibly the first on the US market(?).  Various models under the Kenmore Oasis and Elite, Whirlpool Cabrio, GE, Samsung, and LG brands.

I stand corrected on that one. But now we have to give up the amount of water we want with it being a HE machine.

The world would probably stop spinning if they put back into the machines what they've taken away from them. Just give us what's needed to do the job without the machine having to take longer than an hour to do a job that use to be finished in under 30 min.

Our GE FL took an hour with minimal water, and left us with mold to manage.

MOLD MANAGEMENT - glad we had to sell those

Air2903 - you're welcome, I'm not sure if I've ever seen these either - another pair very similar, though. (..wouldn't mind having these, too)

I had that pair, purchased new in about 1992-ish. I was greatly disappointed in the washer, my particular one was a POS. Couldn't wait to replace them.

Lawrence, were these statistically heavily POS or did you just have one of the few that comes off the manufacturing line, like a car, that brought glee to dumping them?

I'm not sure how the products rate overall, seems like others here have praised them so it could have been that my washer (dryer was fine) was just a lemon. They came with a 3-year warranty covering basically everything. I knew early on that the minute the warranty expired these were going. During the 3 years that I had them, Sears had a service person at my house once a quarter - always for the washer. I sold this pair and replaced them with a pair of Maytags.

I had that washer (bought in 89) but not the dryer. Was very pleased with the washer. Only had 1 repair to it (motor coupler). I had the machine for about 12 yrs., gave it to my brother and he used it for another 5 yrs. before he went to a HE FL machine.

I purchased this set in 97 and they were complete POS. After 5 months, I made Sears come get them and give me a refund. There is a reason the seller is willing to deliver them. Probably wants them GONE as quickly as possible!
