Well....Gibsons of the 70s had many things in common with this one, style looks pretty much identical even though that particular model look is not listed in the brochure of the 70s from ephemera library section that i am attaching...

These are the same machines discussed in "Name that Brand" thread - with ads of the WCI-Franklin machines.

Burstyn, steam ironed the Priest's sweater with a steam iron set hot enough to steam. When you are steam ironing 1970's poly/blend, thats a sure sign of the devil :-)

I remember using my grandfathers Hamilton had to be late 1960's model or early 70's model. Tan angel wing agitator/filter pan.. very noisy operation.. my Grandfather said to me.. "since you like washing so much!! "wash all of my table cloths..and and iron them dry! I was 12 years old and I remember using concentrated ALL powder in the Hamilton. He paid me $5.00 for doing that chore back in 1986 Buffalo N.Y. Like I said I remember the machine finally broke and he immediately bought a Maytag with much smaller capacity.. I remember him commenting how he missed the capacity of the Hamilton washer to wash his bed comforter in. I def know of a Avocado green 1970's Gibson set rotting away in the basement not being used three blocks away from me. My buddy's grandmother has them in her basement. Id like to see them operate again I did like the style of he agitator lint filter sucked though.. Thanks Statenislandgwm! and to all! :-)

Forty years ago right around now, theaters were packed for weeks with viewers watching a tale of demonic possession, based on an actual event. We went on opening night, to the midnight show. It was so scary back then when belief was stronger. And when the real version of that line in italics above was uttered by the demon in Reagan, people were horrified and GASPED. At this point in the film, the possession had begun in earnest, beyond convincing.
How relieved I was to see a safe, demon-free washer. I was so relaxed. (Of course, this was before washers had the power to blow themselves up or self-immolate). If I could go back in time, I'd survey the audience to study the body language. Is anyone else suddenly happy now? You must be a washer man like me. YAY!
Cool Irony: Reagan's mom was directing an anti-war film in Georgetown, and they were living in a millionaire mansion with housekeepers. Everything ritzy and plush. You would expect to have seen a set of 906's or Lady K's or Poppy Red GM 1-18's, instead of the much maligned WCI's. What WAS ritzy for me was seeing elevated plumbing and discharge on the machine; that was a first, and it looked very high brow and classy. So young then and easy to impress.
I remember hearing the washer or the dryer running in this intimate scene between Father Damien and Chris. Will have to check with Aworg eyes. In fact, I have the extended version in a classroom storage box in the garage. Hey, maybe one of the extended scenes is all about the washer with Mothers General and Superior lecturing about the benefits and defects of WCI (laughink).
