Is this a reverse rack machine? Makes me wonder when they don't show a money shot of the machine if they might be possibly hiding something about it. |

These were direct drive from their introduction in 1969 until the end of 1974 (WU600). From 1975 until 1978 they were belt drive (WU601). Without seeing a picture of the interior it's impossible to tell which model it is. The sump was markedly different between the two different designs, but the panel designs were nearly identical. There was a timer revision in about 1973 for the last of the WU600s that changed the layout of the buttons slightly.
If it is indeed lightly used this is a GREAT machine. ALL Maytag front loading dishwashers were of the reverse-rack design until the early 1990s. |
