Hi guys. I just bought a used Maytag Dependable Care Plus Model LAT8624AAM, Serial Number 13293324MZ. It is almond. Can any of the Maytag experts tell me when it was manufactured? Whoever had it took very good care of it. The porcelain wash basket is just as shinny as a new one. The front panel looked pretty good until the guy delivering it dented it and knocked some of the paint off. I've got my washer repairman coming Thurs or Fri to go over it. The Pressure Switch doesn't seem to be accurate- on the Medium setting the water is not but about 2 inches from the top of the tub. Also when spinning it doesn't seem to balance as well as it should. It does need new rubber legs which I am going to replace. I did adjust all the legs and used a level on the washer to make sure it was truly level.

Thank you

Thank you thefixer. I know I'll really enjoy this washer, I had one identical to it I bought in Apr 1996 and should have never let it go, but that's another story-- I thought I had to have a front loader- I bought a whirlpool duet in Jan 2004, although that front loader did us a good amount of water compared to the Duets today. I still like the traditional good Maytag the best.

Squeenjj, My LAT8026AAE, is on "large" right now and the water is to the top row of holes "super" would be above the holes. The first 1/2 of the dial from mini to medium are higher than I expected. By comparison your water level may be off a tad but not much. alr

Thanks

Thanks alr. I'll post an update after the repair guy comes and checks it out.

You made...

.... a very wise choice when you bought this Maytag. Now if you could find the matching dryer you would have a set that actually could last you a lifetime! Congratulations!!!

It's fixed

My repair guy came and the Damper Pads were fine, but they needed lubrication. He did that and replaced the belts, cleaned out the tube to the pressure switch and leveled the machine. It runs great now and the water level was not off much at all but its correct now. I also cleaned the "self-cleaning" lint filter screens and will be returning the one I bought for $35.

I am glad you are now satisfied with the LAT.  Take care of it and it will take care of you.  I did not expect much to actually be wrong with it.  From your post I thought you might of had a weak  spring.  Best of Luck, Enjoy.  alr
