Not if you don't over dry, select low heat and remove elasticized and delicate items items while damp. It was made in a time, 1954-55, when a great majority of the laundry done at home was cottons and synthetic fabrics were mostly things like nightgowns.

You say select low heat. Does this model have different temp settings? I thought it was a single (high) heat model?

I think there was a heat switch above the timer. Earlier GE dryers than this one had a heat selector.
