Wonder if the set is matching? Ad :

"Washer & Dryers set from the 70's. Have hardly ever been used. Last used 3 years ago and they worked fine then. We updated then stored these in the basement, so they have never been stored outside.
Please contact by phone or email and put "Kenmore Set" in the title so I know you're not a spammer.
$45 obo"

Phil,
I don't think that this post is for real. That dryer has been pic'd on here before and when you look at the link on CL that e-mail address has popped up in my neck of the woods in the past. I believe it to be spam.

yeah, it's unfortunate, but anytime on a CL ad when they post a seperate email on the pic....its a scam!...

Just for fun, I emailed for a picture of the washer for sale, here is my almost immediate response:

Hello someone bought this from me, but I can tell you where I got it from.
I got 3 of these from quibauctions.com and I resold them for some extra money.
The trick is to watch for bidding to slow down and then put in a bid. That's what I do and I win most of the time.

All the best
Ashley

I'm sorry. Can Robert just delete this or is it worth keeping as a lesson to others who might try and post it, not reading this thread?

The one thing you can do is click on "Prohibited" at the top of the CL ad when you see those ads with emails in their pics like that. It flags them for CL to pull the ads. It may not happen immediately but at least it's a deterrent.

Overphil,  Please keep posting the  ads you find.  Surely everyone here knows of the potential problems with C's list. I appreciate you gleaning out the interesting stuff. I always enjoy your posts with my 1st cup of coffee right after P.O.D.   alr

Thank you - I'll keep posting, but if I get winded, I'll mention it before sitting this one out.

Regarding the bs that happens with some CL search results, l keep it in mind, and if anyone sees something that should be flagged, please just flag it..and make it known to us here. Thank you.

It's a learning experience, searching for some of these appliances. Knowing there are seasoned appliances professionals and collectors both, I try to present some interesting pieces. It's hard to locate some of the things I would like to see. Maybe they're already adopted in collections? :-)

Don't stop, Phil!  Many of us enjoy your finds, it's a fun part of the AW day.

I've seen several of these "gmail" postings while perusing CL today, too.

There was one ad warning of the movement of these spammers from the auto sections of CL to appliances now and to beware of the scam.

Hey,

I thought I'd create a profile to come on here and reply to this. I found another ad on Craigslist, except this time for a HTC One. They didn't use the Craigslist response system (probably because their replies are banned). When I sent them an email, I got the exact same response:

"Hello someone bought this from me, but I can tell you where I got it from.
I got 3 of these from quibauctions.com and I resold them for some extra money.
The trick is to watch for bidding to slow down and then put in a bid. That's what I do and I win most of the time.

Quibids is really trying hard to get new customers, aren't they?
