Hi all,
I have a small collection of machines, and i dont know when any of them were made, or how to date them by using the serial number- id really like to know.

Could someone please share with me how to do it?

The machines i would like to date are the following:
Hotpoint wma64 (natural linen)
Zanussi FJS1397w
LG WM16225fd (Silver)

How to find out the date of manufature of your appliance? Umm... I guess each manufacturer uses different criteria.

I know how to assign the date on a modern Hoover... this is achieved by looking at the middle section of the long serial number. For example, my Hoover Nextra 4 digit middle section of the serial reads 0418: the first 2 numbers refer to the year, so, 2004, while the last 2 numbers indicate the 18th week of that year, thus, it would've been put together in April 2004.

Try to find a 4 digit code within the serial... or search online... as I did. Good luck ;-)
