That's the 'Hydrator'. Frigidaire was kinda unique with this; it's where you store veggies like lettuce and salad goods. I guess the idea was so that you easily see what you had 'in stock'. I've never used one or owned a Frigidaire refrigerator with this, but I like the concept!!
The seller may be describing a compressor problem from what they are saying about the refrigerator not cooling, unfortunately. |

It is a 1959 model. Uses A LOT of electricity, the interior fan runs just about all the time.
The freon on these systems is a sealed system. There is no way to service the system.
Also, this is suspiciously like the same one that was on craigslist about 6 months ago in Boston. The fact that there is a moving van and blankets in the background doesn't bode well. If it was transported on its side, all the oil in the compressor went it to the coils. If they didn't wait at least a week for it drain back down - then they screwed the compressor and its over - dead.
Also, if anyone wants my yellow one -I will give it to you for free. It has only the shelves, the drawers are missing. |
