Beautiful turquoise blue retro vintage refrigerator!
GM Frigidaire Frost Proof FP-142-59-TQ
Gorgeous 1950s-60s design and coloring
All original with shelves, trays, drawers, etc.
Hydrator drawer and cabinet; butter, cheese, utility, egg trays, ice cube trays, meat tender drawer.
Bottom freezer
Measures 32 inches wide X 70 inches tall X 29 inches deep
Has scuffs, scrapes, etc. typical for age. No rust and no dents...nice condition.
Needs new plug wire. I plugged it in and motor runs, light inside works, but doesn't get cold...probably needs freon...not sure.

What is that panel at the bottom of the refrigerator door supposed to do?

That's the 'Hydrator'.  Frigidaire was kinda unique with this; it's where you store veggies like lettuce and salad goods.  I guess the idea was so that you easily see what you had 'in stock'.  I've never used one or owned a Frigidaire refrigerator with this, but I like the concept!!

The seller may be describing a compressor problem from what they are saying about the refrigerator not cooling, unfortunately.

Nice refrigerator - 1959

Their  "Picture Window Hydrator" was very cool, but added a few extra steps to storing fresh veggies & fruit and probably not a joy to clean, either.

I have the same one in yellow

It is a 1959 model.  Uses A LOT of electricity, the interior fan runs just about all the time.

The freon on these systems is a sealed system.  There is no way to service the system.

Also, this is suspiciously like the same one that was on craigslist about 6 months ago in Boston.  The fact that there is a moving van and blankets in the background doesn't bode well.  If it was transported on its side, all the oil in the compressor went it to the coils.  If they didn't wait at least a week for it drain back down - then they screwed the compressor and its over - dead.

Also, if anyone wants my yellow one -I will give it to you for free.  It has only the shelves, the drawers are missing.

Tony, you have a sunny yellow fridge?! I've been looking for over a year on a regular basis for a frost free Frigidaire in sunny yellow.
