When the tub makes the noise on hi temp cycles it is only when the tub is coming to a stop in between rotations, when moving it is fine |

If It were me, I would have both units returned and change the brand to either LG or Maytag front.bb loading set. I've had both and am currently using three LGs a Duet Set by Whirlpool and had a GE front loading set. The washer had the same issies as yours. Even though they were both on a service plan, GE wanted to charge for the repairs. After I took it to the dump,I received a renewal on both contracts stating both of them would expire in July,2013. I was furious and called GE Customer service. They are .ow offering me a new front loading set but, after seeing yet another design flaw,I may call them and settle foran induction top electric convection range.
I've currently found two LG Tromm front loaders. Both have the built in heater and recirculating spray. One of them adds the interior drum light and steam. Both have the big 4.0 cu ft. drum. The one is.bb silver, the other is white. The silver one needed a new door lock assembly . I found it on line for $51 and repaired it myself. The white one was still under warranty and had a faulty seal that leaked ruining the spider puley and barings. Bob,the local authorized service tech.,will be back as soon as he gets over a bad cold to rebuild it. There were a few conflicts between us because even though LG Customer service verified the warranty coverage is still active, Bob was going to charge me for the barings, the tub seal and labor claiming LG was telling him a totally different story. I got in touch with LG calling the different number then the one on my unit for customer service and they too verified the full coverage. I had them contact Bob and had a conference call. Evidently,he has been double dipping and not only getting reimbursed for service and parts from LG but is also getting money from customers unaware of the free parts and labor the first year of ownership or that it's transferable if you sell it used or with the house. Bob wasn't mad or embarrassed but, just earlier today at our local Home Depot where this particular unit was purchased, his name came up from an angry customer who has a Hotpoint electric range they bought in November. The door lock is stuck in the lock lksition. The owner claims his wife locked it after setting it to bake at 450 to keep their two year old from getting burned opening the oven door not knowing it would stay locked until cooling down. He charged them $250 to replace the part and received payment from GE too. So,when he comes back,I'm confronting him about it because Home Depot employees hate his service due to him "double dipping". |

As an appliance professional, I have not seen a highly durable GE laundry appliance for sale here in the US since about 1994, yes many GE LA are great performers, but none have been better than average in terms of longevity and most much worse.
Best Front Load Washers, Speed Queen, followed by WP, MT, and maybe even Frigidaire. I would skip the LGs and Samsung's UNLESS you have an excellent local service agency that is enthusiastic about SERVICING [ not just selling ] these two brands. Even here in the nations capital most of our customers get disgusted after a few repairs on their LG and SS appliances and out they go. John L. |

a GE laundry product........I don't know why? It's just always worked out that I've had a Whirlpool or Kenmore. I've never had a Maytag appliance either.
Bummer to see this happening because it is a nice looking washer.........and those linked above that are made in the US here in KY look even better. I wonder if they are well made as opposed to the other models?? |

How about E-Lux/Frigidare (Sorry, just can't spell it...)? Not heared anything bad bout them. Capacity is good, lots of options, high spin speed, heater and warm rinses avaible! |

I would return both for a full refund, no way I'd put up with all these troubles.
Mike, this model appears to be one that is still sourced from Little Swan/Midea in China. Built by Little Swan to spec, GE has been sourcing them since they moved away from the Electrolux/Frigidaire models.
The U.S. built machines are the taller, built-in riser models. Assembled in KY with parts sourced globally. |

Recirculation spray nozzle, there is two of them, one on each side of the tub that spray inwards. Very effective. |

the way the LG machines look... I also LOVE the fact that it has a deep rinse. I'm surprised because I didn't think that was allowed with modern front load washers.
but I'm so scared of that brand, not because of reliability......but because if something were to go wrong, how long will you have to be waiting for it to be fixed because of parts having to be ordered or back ordered parts, etc. It seems like I remember a lady on a forum saying it took 1.5 months to finally get her LG machine fixed. She had to go to the laundromat for six weeks. I'd die! That being said, it looks like a super cool machine and hope you have no problems with it :) |
