During the auction I emailed the seller to let me know if he would sell the dryer seperate...I just heard back that both went to the scrap yard..

Sad day for sure to hear that something like that is going to be scrapped especially when it doesn't look to be in that bad of shape for its age. |

That is sad. Some people do not appreciate what they have or what they are worth. Impatience and ignorance are a fatal combination and an all too common pair of traits in today's society in many areas, especially this. |

Well they were not in very good conditions as I could see many signs of rusting and humidity, especially on the back of the machines and in the westy dryer drum...
But nothing that cannot be fixed, I suppose? I have seen machines returning to their full glory that were in way worse conditions.....of course... You know.....I often think at the day I will move to US (because sooner or later this is going to happen)' and always wonder how the hell I will be able to find a Vintage pair for me, yes, because probably I'll end having a modern pair I would and could not really be happy with, of course.... This at least for the first periods of course.... Vintage are starting to "scarce", at least they does not appear in ads with the same frequence they used to....and it is really bad when I hear stories ending like this, and I say....holy fuck that pair could have been mine, I would kill to have just that washer....
