Ad: " Looking to rehab your place with a great mid-century kitchen or finish your basement with a vintage flare? This kitchen is the real deal and with the provenance to prove it.

The set is in excellent condition and was manufactured by Republic Steel (cabinets) and General Electric (appliances). It is original to the building, which was designed by Bertrand Goldberg and finished in 1963 (Astor Tower at the corner of Astor and Goethe). The set includes several modular cabinets, a built-in refrigerator/freezer, counter top and sink and oven/stove top, all fully functioning and in rare avocado green. The counter top will probably need replaced since it is made of laminate and has faded in the open space. Let's face it though: the beautiful cabinets are the reason to purchase this set. They are in excellent condition, have very smooth open/close action and include the original shelving, also in excellent condition. Oh, the refrigerator/freezer is pretty cool too since it's built to blend in with the cabinetry, is in good operational condition with only occasional frost in the freezer and the compressor has recently been replaced.

As much as I would love to keep these rare finds, they no longer fit the rest of my rehabbed condo. Would prefer to sell as an entire package and am happy to discuss price separately. Also, I'm happy to arrange a viewing if you'd like to see in person. Buyer is responsible for removal and shipping. "
