A couple of happy snaps I took whilst on a quick day trip to Amish country Ohio... Lehman's Hardware store was a pictorial treasure trove of old machines... Enjoy... |

That place is more like a museum than a store! |

Yep! Some Amish communities allows (self made) electricity and wringer washers.....others indeed not but do have gas powered wringer washers and change even the later model to be gas powered...
amishamerica.com/how-do-amish-wom... So nice to see these MINT machines and antique appliances....and real museum pieces...I bet it is a nice place to look for and so find also some QUALITY appliance and items that will still last many many years and sure more than whatever today's thing will do... Wonderful wood stoves on the upper shelves also....I have a bunch (4-5) of similar ones at our farm...they came with the house... Thanks for sharing! This post was last edited 04/03/2014 at 12:57 |

Were those sewing machines just for decoration, or did the Amish really use those to make clothing with? I know that the Amish make their own clothes. |
