I noticed last night that Repair Clinic has released several videos on the disassembly and servicing of the Affinity TL machines. Pretty good stuff.

Spring suspension

I'm surprised they're still using spring suspension like in the tub-indexing top loaders. I'm still not sure about this machine though, with there being no actual dedicated agitation. This even confirms that the plate at the bottom is bolted to the tub. Reminds me of a toy washing machine I had as a kid.

The suspension on these machines handles unbalanced loads better than any other, including Speed Queen. Both the Frigidaire top-loaders I had (one with agitator, one with impeller) would spin a big, heavy bath robe that was purposely placed in a single spot in the tub. Amazing!

The Immersion Care (as John/Combo 52 pointed out) has an excellent fabric softener dispensing system.

Everything else about those washers: Meh.

Frigidaire

Eugene i agree! My 2009 frigidaire top load (which i still have and am trying to sell because i had my fun with it and just got the lg) would spin a big sopping wet rug on one side of the tub without a problem!!! Always amazed me!!
