I messaged him Apparently it's been stored in a barn and forgotten about! It would of been £300 in 1977 |

why not make it affordable to all who enjoy these machines and see it go to a loving owner who not only would look after it but would keep it in mint condition and cherish the thing?
I am sorry but the use of txt spk when typed in a message really is the height of ignorance. I say lower the start price and see if others are willing to pay through the nose or be left holding a decaying unwanted item as a folly to greed. Austin |

A very nice machine but who told him to ask that price? It's ridiculous! It is never worth that or anywhere near that. I notice it's been relisted. £250 maybe a better price to tempt someone but certainly not the silly money they are asking. It is after all quite old and any rubber seals would have deteriorated in that time in storage new machine or not.
We used to have this machine when I was a child. It lasted about 7 years and had a couple of call outs during that time to a leak and clutch problem. Did a good wash and always fun to watch. Loved the clang it made when the clutch moved to allow the spin to operate. |

While I agree it's a nice machine they are not really that rare to justify paying that amount. These days most people Inc myself could really use it as a daily driver. I'm on a water meter and the amount of energy needed to do a wash would be too much. I've had a hotpoint top loader as my first machine but that was 20 years ago. I hope the seller sees sense and not greedy pound signs

I wonder if they brought the buy it now price down again.
Gotta say that, if it is as NIB as they say it is, then it is probably worth £500. Sure there are plenty of Hotpoint Top Loaders around but very few of this vintage with the time line display. And no, it was not me who bought it either. But, if its someone from here, enjoy in good health is what I say. Al |
