...and man did it make a difference. The original timing (from my suspicion of taking too long for fills) for a full load of towels with a deep rinse was about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Thanks to WP-Dude22's advice, I removed the pinkish orange inserts from the inlet attachments on the back of the washer, thankfully without any need to disassemble the washer's panel. The difference was immediately obvious, because it went from a weak dribble to a nice waterfall into the tub, much like the old WP direct drive fills. Being about 2 weeks from the last load of towels, I decided to run a load as close to identical in weight and size as the one I timed before. This time I got a total of 50 minutes from pressing the Start button to the moment the Clean light came on!!! The fills were about 4 mins for each, where last time the average was 18 minutes on Super water level. With a little math, that means 36 minutes were being dedicated just to the measly fill of my wash loads that could have been 8 min total to begin with if they had not added restrictors to the valves for no reason! It's amazing the marketing tricks they'll use to make someone who is not savvy with appliances think their machine is filling with too much water.

Difference in spray rinse
It does! Sadly it never does a full-on spin spray, but after draining the wash it turns the tub slowly and turns on the water for a few seconds. Now that it actually has volume though, it actually drenches the load rather than dribbling. But I always keep the fabric softener option turned on because it does a deep rinse. I think the option should instead read "Do you want your clothes rinsed?" "Yes or No".
