need some advice regarding my maytag GA208 washer.

since i can't use my 208, with the drain hose put into the houses drain pipe, cuz it overflows if the washer is on "NORMAL" speed, i have rigged it up with a wire coat hanger & a wooden spatula, onto my mom's newer whirlpool. so when the maytag drains, it drains into the whirlpool's washtub. once the whirlpool gets so full, it automatically starts draining the water into the house's drain pipe. but, i've noticed a problem, that if i had been able to use the drain hose into the house's drain pipe, i wouldn't have caught.

here is the "problem";
i noticed that last few times that i've washed in the maytag, draining into the whirlpool, that there is a black residue left behind, in the whirlpool's washtub, at the bottom and also along the sides of the washtub.

at first, i thought that it was dirt from the dirty wash water from the maytag. but, the last time that i did wash in the maytag, i noticed that there was 2 small black "chunks" of a rubber feeling material, left at the bottom of the whirlpool washtub, when i finished washing clothes.

now, the only thing i can think of, is that one of drain hoses (either the one from the outer tub to the drain pump or the thicker one, coming out from the drain pump) is falling apart/disintegrating. i'm pretty sure that these are the original hoses that this washer came with, back in 1978.

my question is, are the hoses still available to buy? and if so, where could i buy them and does anybody know how much they cost? and is there any other hose that might also be disintegrating, that needs to be replaced as well??

thank you guys for your replies & help.

:o)
