I went load some clothes and went to my Dads house for a little while and when I pulled up I heard the most god awful racket

the washer was shaking so bad it walked its way till it hit the wall. The tub was slamming against the side of the machine with a

god awful force. My neighbor called to bitch about the noise and  told me she is calling the Land Lord LOL... I told her go ahead and

call my Dad.LOL,, I know childish but it was amusing, she don't like gay people.

Sorry off topic she just drives me nuts, my washer will wash just fine but when it goes into spin now the same thing happens.

I put the tub back on the snubber is that what it is called and it washed fine one load then boom the same thing again.

I thought these machines have a thing that will stop the thing when its out of balance was I wrong.I am not real sure of the year

this machine has parts from many of them from my guy.Should I trade it in on a old G.E. Filter Flow or a old Speed-Queen

they are both late 70s machines of course he has many many old center dial Maytag's..

sometimes 1-18' develop a small crack in the snubber ring you set the tub back into, it can be hard to see .  The only fix for that is another ring.

Also be sure that the suspension springs are all in place, I probably have good used scrubber rings if you want to fix it.

I wanted to fix it but that is not a possibility anymore. My Dad knows how I tend to hang on to things a wee bit to much.

I am not like those folks on T.V. but with over 40 disposers,Three dishwashers and a Hobart trash compactor.

He came over here while I was gone to get washer.I got a late 80s  Magic-Chief washer straight vane came back home and my 1-18

was gone he took it to the dump. The Magic-Chief washes great..

He mentioned that he will not let his proprieties look like Sanford and Son.He loves me but my Grandmother willed the farm

to myself and Sis I think he resents that at times.I am going to lowes to get new locks....

I am sorry to hear that your Frigidaire 1-19 is no more. That was a terrible thing to do.

When it comes to people and money, watch it. I have seen families collapse over stuff like this. My gold digging crazy sister thought her husbands parents had a lot of money. They were comfortable, but not rich. She treated them like royalty. When she found out they didn't have the amount of money she thought they had she treated them like crap until the day they died.

The least the subject is brought up the better off you all will be.
