I have just bought a couple of water filters from Screwfix but I'm not sure about what fittings to use to connect pipes to them, as they have 3/4" NPT threads. Most plumbing parts available in Hungary are actually imperial sizes rather than metric but I think the threads are all BSP, the British system. I think washing machine hoses are 3/4" BSP on European machines. I just wondered if American machines are the same or do they use 3/4" NPT? If they do there might be some kind of adapter I could buy. Someone told me I could use 3/4" bath tap connectors but that is still a bodge as they would also be BSP.
The best advice I can offer is to take the filters to a Plumbers' Merchant and ask them to see what they can find in their stock. An old established firm will have YEARS worth of oddments in the back. They usually respond very well to a challenge... ;-)
