Especially the TVs with the round CRT from the 1950s. Later sets go for much less. |

I, as you can tell from my profile pic am a BIG
Vintage Audio / Visual fan. Those "Roundie" color RCA's are Awesome. Everything appears to be in "Technicolor". They are Great Sets, but do need to be kept up. As with anything make sure dust is blown out, and try to put a cooling fan on the back, or underneath if there is a ventilation screen for the chassis. It will make a big difference in removing heat from the inside. Yes. #18 is a Newer Tube. Good Eye. That is the label of '70s Tubes and the Seller does state it is a '71 Colorama in his description. Thanks again Louie. Keep 'em coming. Of course this make you an "Enabler" you know / LOL. Louis |

Was known in old time TV shops as The Gutless Wonder!!!LOL, I know all the younger set thinks that these new flat screens are the stuff, but If you ever see a properly adjusted round tube in proper "Dim" lighting, it is the most natural lifelike color ever. |

Same here, as newvista58(Louis) - love the thread, you always find interesting things, as well, Louie.
I'll be absent for more than a week, as we do our annual trip to Michigan. I don't have a truck, or I'd stop along the way, probably -lol! Yeah, the vintage color tv sets are getting more expensive in certain markets. People have high expectations of anything they can slap the word, "vintage" onto, even if the item is bedraggled and begging for burial. Phil |

As soon as that word is attached to any object,
it changes everything and raises the stakes, whether it's warranted or not. The truth is that with the Audio / Visual items, they are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. Someone has to really love a certain TV, etc. for what it is, as alot of these do not have mass appeal, even amongthe Vintage collectors, at large. They can ask what they want for it....Doesn't mean they'll get it. Hey Where's Justin / CountryFord. I thought you might Like this thread too :) |

These are all so Awesome. It's really
tough being "addicted" to the consoles, as they do take up alot of space. I'd love to have them all, but it is what it is / LOL. BTW Everyone. If you see any of the TV Stands /Carts, like in #26, grab them as they are just as rare and a sought after commodity as the TV's they hold. Keep 'em coming Louie. Thanks. Louis |

Louis - no biggie, I'm trying to get this "compartment" organized for the present herd of items we kept after selling off alot of other furniture, etc.
#46 is nice, but no way do I have room for a big unit. If I buy something that big, I'd rather have a tv/stereo combo...which are becoming scarcer to find, in good shape. I don't need the tv, but just the nostalgic vibes from it(my dad bought a big Zenith in 1964, walnut am/fm stereo - color tv ...wished he had kept it. Solid heavy beast, but sounded great. Oh well. I'll get there, Louis - thank you and I'm stlll lookin' for that Easy. |

I've never seen a Magnavox Hi Fi with a built-in clock. Perhaps a little overpriced but very nice shape. Probably another easy turntable fix. Of course it's not mid 60's. $195 in Madison.

Magnavox electronics installed in a custom cabinet. I assume this was not a factory model since Magnavox was still using sliding tops in the mid 1960's (tuner looks to be 1967 vintage.) 8 feet long, it makes a statement in a nice contemporary cabinet. $399 in Fresno.

Said to belong to Victor Mature - ad reads:
"This is a very rare stereo cabinet that you probably won't see again. The sweet lady I bought it from in Arizona said that her Aunt and Uncle bought it from Victor Mature (yes, the famous actor) when he was in need of money (for a move to make himself a movie star, perhaps?) Anyways, I was looking at her house to buy when I saw it and fell in love with it, and she told me the story about it. I called her days later and asked if she would sell it to me, and when the price became right she agreed. I haven't plugged it in, and she hadn't either since inheriting it. It looks to be in very good shape, and has lots of extra tubes and a phono stylus. There is even a hand written note about different channels or tubes or something and the original lay out which is in the pictures. It has a nice back that goes on very easily, I took it off for the pictures. The door for the t.v. is accordion style. All the knobs are original. The wood is beautiful, although the pictures don't show it. The T.V. measures 6 1/2 X 8 1/2 It is 22" deep to the ends of the knobs. It is 35" wide. Its height is 3' 10". I know this will cost a bit to get it running again (if it doesn't work), but just think about this piece being passed down for generations, or think of it as an investment, someone would definitely pay a heck of alot more if it were working. I do have the other knob for it. The only damage is in the trim where the door opens to store albums, as shown in the picture but it doesn't detract from the coolness of the piece. It even has the original decals. I have lots of other cool things for sale: Check out this link to see pictures. s812.photobucket.com/user/trixxie... Looks like it didn't sell at $2499 plus $125 shipping. But what a history of restoring and selling small vintage tv sets. Just look at the variety sold..very cool.
