Now that I've got the new photo system up and running I can take a programming break and work on more scanning for the Ephemera Library.  A big thanks goes out to Aurthur (alr2903) who was kind enough to send me this fun service manual on the early 70s Westinghouse Double-Load coin-op washers.  I remember these well as a kid at a few laundromats we went to on vacation, they were very splashy and fun to watch!

Cavalcade of Double-Loaders

Continuing the Double-Load theme, today I loaded the service manual for Speed Queen's version of the front-loading double-load washer.  I've never seen one of these machines so early and with a backsplash no less, but it would be fun to find one of these sometime.

I also added a couple of Kenmore documents as well.

I just downloaded both of these, YAY!

I have to say I'm disappointed Speed Queen didn't bother to list some of the machines specs, i.e. gallons of water used per cycle, wash and spin speed RPM's etc like Westinghouse did.

Also interesting Speed Queen used one motor for wash tumble and another motor for spin!

Boy I would love to have BOTH of these machines!

Thank you Robert and Arthur for posting these!

 Kevin

And for today's entries into the Library I put a service manual supplement for a 1963 Westinghouse Laundromat Washers and the complete Tech-Talk Service Manual for 1960 Frigidaire Filtrator and Air-Flow Dryers.

I just love the Frigidaire Queen on the right lol!

fascinating, I have never seen that machine. All our laundromats at the Cape were 3 belt top loaders, I'd love to find one of those with the solenoid spin lock that buzzed when they got old!

Early Miele washing machines did the same.

My W1070 has a huge cast iron job that is basically two motors. One part handles tumbling and the other spinning.
