Heavy duty signature five cycles to speed Montgomery Ward washer - $75 (8411 pecos )

i'm sure there are some here in this group that are into montgomery ward washers. here is one that seems like a pretty good deal. it was posted 14 days ago but the ad was "updated" 4 hours ago (so i'm guessing it's still available?)

craigslist ad says:
"We have a very nice older washer in excellent working order what is a signature Montgomery Ward 2 speed 5 cycle heavy duty washer only 75 $ if interested call or text Mike 720 275 45 26 thanks for looking have a great day"

I'm only seeing two cycles on the control dial. (Normal / Delicate) But it is an 18# machine 3 water levels, 5 temp choices. I wonder if it had a burpalator or built in lint filter basket. No money shots in the ad. :(

Who made these for Montgomery Ward? The control panel reminds me of a Hotpoint.

Marketing departments take liberties on cycle counts.  Anywhere they can mark on the dial as a starting point may be claimed as a cycle -- Regular/Heavy, Regular/Normal, Regular/Light, Perm Press/Normal, Perm Press/Light, Delicate/Normal, Rinse & Spin, Spin Only, etc.

Dadoes-
I know that a lot of mfg's use that tactic when they list the features that their machines provide. I was just making an observation of what I saw from the pic's that were provided.

I love it already, but you and Ralph knew that. ;-) Picture it: Me, laundering away with my Wards Signature washer, martini in one hand, cigarette in the other, trying to shout over the Princess phone while the D&M dishwasher churns away in the kitchen. :-)

Oh, I do love the juggling act required in that visual!  Just don't spill and short out the little lovely light before we even get it working!

Personally, I think you should hold out for a TOL model.  More buttons betters the odds of a more spectacular failure.  laughing
