Evening guys,

Most of you will already know that I own a Hotpoint Supermatic 1464 which was a Best Buy model deriving from the Supermatic 1467. It requires a new spinner bellows and I am wondering where would be the cheapest retailer to buy one from. I also requires a new cork seal under the tripod nut but I can easily bodge that with a rubber washer (I don't understand why they didn't use rubber washers in the first place). I may require a new spinner drain hose in the long term too but I can easily live with the current one for now as the important thing getting the machine watertight again. I am also in need of some advice. There is a carbon face seal on top of the bellows, how to I extract this from the bellows or is this part of it? I hope to get "Nora" up and running again soon without burning a hole in my pocket!

James.

Yes, it comes with the face seal. You would need to ask if this is the correct one for your model:

Hi James

there are 2 to choose from on this website www.easyspares.co.uk/products.asp... and they also sell the drain hose too www.easyspares.co.uk/products.asp... I'll ping you an email with the service manual too.

You could use a cork tile to fashion up a new cork washer - I'm guessing they were used to better allow for expansion and contraction of the metals depending on the temperature of the wash. Its the same set up for the top loaders too.

Cheers
S :)
