To my knowledge, I've had 2 unbalanced loads(let me get this straight, the machine handled them beautifully) with my Huebsch 432. The 2nd unbalanced load I had I was made aware by the sound of the machine during spin drain. Went to the machine, disabled the lid switch and noticed it handled the load much like Danman's video with an area rug. But the first unbalanced load I had was with washing 2 large cotton knit blankets (very heavy when wet). Again noticed the unbalanced load by the sound of the machine and again went to look at it work. The washer just didn't rev-up to full spin speed! So I closed the lid and activated the extra rince cycle (instead of bothering with redistribution since the machine was doing OK) and closed the lid. The exta rince redistibuted the sheets OK and the final spin was perfect. Has anyone of you Speed Queen owners experienced this. Could this be some sort of unknown protection? Thanks!
had this happen when I wash a full size heavy cotton comforter with lighter cotton sheets.
FWIW, my GE did the same thing; it would not rev up to full chat if the load was unbalanced. You might be correct it could be a self limiting feature so the machine does not destroy itself.
