Hey ladies and gents,
My recent miss on the free 1962 Kenmore 70 series washer in PA reminds me how much I've wanted one. My friend Dave has the matching dryer, but is willing to let me have it. I figure I'd send out a wish for one and ask for someone to let me know if they come across one in the eastern 1/3 of the country. I realize its a 52 year old machine and may take a while to turn up, but I love the look. Thanks fellas. This post was last edited 07/05/2014 at 17:07 |

That's cool. Only need the washer though. I know there are a few out there. It's not a rush and I can wait for one in the wild. I figured maybe people might keep an eye open on the listings... Kind of like we are all looking for Sandy's Amana.
Jetaction/Don has one too. Here's a picture. I've attached a link to his 2011 post about his. CLICK HERE TO GO TO classiccaprice's LINK This post was last edited 07/05/2014 at 19:11 |

One of the wizards at design/styling for Kenmore must have been impressed with the cycle dial on '58 Frigidaires!

Sorry you missed out on that washer, and hope you find another soon. I saw a photo of Roanoke Robert's set in a 2005 thread, and have loved the look of these models ever since. |

Thank you, James. I looked up that 2005 thread, the control panel is shorter and seventy is spelled out. I think Robert's is a 1961. There is definitely a similarity in the control panel design.

Hope you find her as I always liked the look of that model too. The 1962 set that Roanoke Robert has was posted in a different thread (also 2005) that showed them in his basement. The thread was posted after the one you linked above if memory serves. |
