Hey ladies and gents,

My recent miss on the free 1962 Kenmore 70 series washer in PA reminds me how much I've wanted one. My friend Dave has the matching dryer, but is willing to let me have it. I figure I'd send out a wish for one and ask for someone to let me know if they come across one in the eastern 1/3 of the country. I realize its a 52 year old machine and may take a while to turn up, but I love the look. Thanks fellas.

Roanoke Robert

Has the set,But I think they are his favorites...Last time I was up there he was using a 59 Lady Kenmore set.

That's cool. Only need the washer though. I know there are a few out there. It's not a rush and I can wait for one in the wild. I figured maybe people might keep an eye open on the listings... Kind of like we are all looking for Sandy's Amana.

Jetaction/Don has one too. Here's a picture. I've attached a link to his 2011 post about his.

One of the wizards at design/styling for Kenmore must have been impressed with the cycle dial on '58 Frigidaires!

I thought the same thing when I saw it the first time.

Sorry you missed out on that washer, and hope you find another soon. I saw a photo of Roanoke Robert's set in a 2005 thread, and have loved the look of these models ever since.

Thank you, James. I looked up that 2005 thread, the control panel is shorter and seventy is spelled out. I think Robert's is a 1961. There is definitely a similarity in the control panel design.

Hope you find her as I always liked the look of that model too. The 1962 set that Roanoke Robert has was posted in a different thread (also 2005) that showed them in his basement. The thread was posted after the one you linked above if memory serves.

So this month my friend Mark (marks) found the laundromat he's been looking for and Wes (elginkid) found his matching harvest gold dryer to his washer... Can anyone make my April by finding a '62 70 series washer for me?

Thank you! Probably the top selling washer of 1962... but somewhat hard to find now!
