mines an '88 with the lower backsplash attachment. Bought it a few months ago from a snowbird's residence. Oven had never been used, the rest of it *might* have had a total of 6 months' light usage. Got it for $100, sold off all the ceramic/halogen cartridges for $400 and kept the european solid disc element cartridges to use. Deal of a lifetime!

Thank you, Allen - I did catch it. Not that anyone cares or would understand(I don't)...when I do a copy of the link, most of the time, the paste is perfectly transcribed. Sometimes, it adds a https vs. the usual http and that's when all hello breaks loose. I caught it seconds after I pasted it and during that time, you were providing the good link - ha!
Yeah, I posted these as a result of your conversation with Malcom and others on Jenn-Airs. I remember how revered the Jenn-Air's used to be. I mean, they were great at one time. I haven't done any searches for Jenn-Airs, but will include them in my searches from now on. Phil |

I knew you were aware of the bad links happening--i just happened to be glued to the chair here and thought I'd be quick and fix it.
Yes...there are some REALLY good JennAir buys out there. *IF* you get the pre 90-92 non-digital crap. And get pieces that haven't been used to death. Personally, I gravitate toward their 70s and 80s stuff because the build/materials quality was still there in abundance (and because I had those things when they were new and really enjoyed cooking on them). Kills me to see ads out here for JennAir being sold due to "upgrade". If you have a great JennAir range from that era and get rid of it...you are definitely downgrading, I think :D |
