Back in the 90s, the Whirlpool Corp. was right on the money when it came to fabric care. The color codes are there to help the user select the correct wash and rinse temperatures, agitation and spin speeds, and cycle/program time. It was yet another gimmick used yo step customers up to. a more "DeLuxe" model. It looked nice together with its matching dryer. We had them on display Incredible Universe. The washer was $449. The dryer was $399 gas models available for $50 more.
