Ok, a few months ago I had a door lock that was giving me trouble on my Neptune 5500 series washer. I took the cover off to investigate and really couldn't find anything so I just checked the electrical connections and buttoned up the washer. Whatever the problem was it went away. Now fast forward to today and the problem I'm having is the washer is having trouble balancing the load for the final spin and after a few tries it displays a "0". When I cancel the cycle and shut the machine off, you can hear the drum continue to rotate in only one direction, it doesn't pause and reverse tumble.
I have to unplug it to get it to stop. If I plug it back in after a while it comes back on with the pause light flashing and won't start new a cycle or restart where it left off. I use the door lock release cord in the dispenser to open the washer and leave it unplugged for a while with no change upon restarting.

You may try to touch base with Yogitunes. He has several Neptunes in his collection and may be able to give you some guidance or lead you to someone that can assist you with your problem.

Howz this?

I think the direction the photo appears in has something to do with a Windows option. Here they are right side up:

pull your tech sheet out from behind the control panel....

follow instructions for putting it in diagnostic mode.....

and follow the promps for the different functions....

but willing to bet, its your motor control board....

let us know how you make out....

It's working! It's working!
I don't know what it was, but I took the front cover off and checked all the connections to the motor control board. Pulled each one off and reconnected them making sure the clips were seated securely to the circuit board. I also checked the connections to the out of balance switch at the bottom of the tub to see if it was bound up by pushing it in and out and it was free and not binding in its travel.
Couldn't find anything else, so I buttoned it back up. Started the washer and it is working like normal.
I seem to remember this and last time I had run a heavy load of bath rugs, the washer went on strike with the very next load.
Just completed my second load and everything seems to be running fine.
While I had the washer apart I took this opportunity to swap out my worn out washer legs for some new updated ones from Whirlpool. Some feet were missing the rubber caps. The new ones from Whirlpool have the rubber cast right with the foot so they won't come off.
Pics below.

Here is also a picture of something I wanted to try for noise control. I applied some rubber undercoating to the back of the front cover to prevent any rust from developing and act as a vibration and ambient noise dampener.

How's the undercoating working? Does it make the sounds noticeably different?
