They are back!!  This seller seems to have a gazillion of these stainless panels for the KitchenAid 20 Series dishwashers.  I think these panels will fit other models as well.  I have bought two sets from this buyer.  They come brand new in the box just as advertised.  If you're looking for some here is your chance.  These also feet my 21 Series.

Ralph...can you describe what you received

a bit further? What I mean is...are these panels more like the good quality brushed chrome of the 60s/70s era appliances or more of a smooth "polished" satiny stainless steel?

I have a KUDS23 Superba which I love in its original perfect black panels but have been interested in having option to change over to these provided the look/texture is right.

I think my machine has exactly the same panel dimensions as your 21...so this might be a good auction to watch. Thanks for the heads up!

Allen

Measurements and photos

Phil--
Thanks, I did see dimensions in the listing but seller's photos have apparently not loaded into the listing. All that shows is the photo of the boxed item when you do a listing search. Opening the sale link gives grey boxes where pics should be. It's on my ebay watch list...I remember these being on there earlier this year and I do not believe they sold at her buy it now price. Something more like 20 or 30 bucks plus shipping.

I'll get my tape measure out tomorrow and double check that these fit...but am pretty sure they do.

Smooth vs. Shiny

chachp's profile picture

Allen, Well I'm not exactly sure I understand what look you're going for but here is a picture of my KDS-15 with the stainless panels that you can compare with the photos I posted above.  The photos above are the new ones and this one on the 15 is the original set that came with the machine.

These do seem to be less shiny than the new ones.  On my 15 I did use a stainless cleaner that gave a bit of a sheen but they really are not shiny at all.

The last ones that went for around $20 most likely were mine.  I got them for the opening bid of I think $29.95.  These panels will fit your machine and I think they would look very nice on that handsome machine!!  Does that help?

Thx, Ralph...

That's just me being nit-picky/overly detailed. It's hard to tell from photos up here but your panels do seem to be like a "brushed" or finely grained type (which you can probably feel somewhat by touch). Seller indicates a circa 1981 date, which makes me think these are quite possibly brushed chrome and not necessarily stainless steel. There is a visual difference...but it's not overwhelmingly so.

That's what I've been trying to figure out with the ebay listing. There are some OEM panels which are just flat buffed metal with no "grain" or striation to them--those have a nice luster, but can show a lot of streaking when you clean them.

Thanks again!

These have a grain.

These definitely have a fine grain to them.  Now that I think about it I bought 3 sets from these people and I have another one that is unopened.  It seems to me one side was shiny and one was not I just can't remember if they were such that you could use either side.  When I get home I can open the package and check that out if you want.  I could try to photograph them more closely but it may be tough.

Allen, here's a shot of my ISE/KA Series 22 clone with stainless inserts purchased through Sears parts a few years ago.  Maybe it will give you an idea of the brushed look.  They are definitely SS OEM parts and not chrome, and they will fit series 20 - 23, and maybe even 18 & 19.

I am soooooo jealous of your KDS-15! Those are the stainless panels and control panel I'd love to find someday for my KDS-55.

Looks wonderful!
