For UK-based Hoover owners/readers especially, I am rebuilding an old timeline Logic, A3586. I got the bearings done and put it all together for a test wash.

It works fine, except that the heater turns the 40 degree wash into a 60 and, upon stripping the left hand thermostat, found a broken contact.

The part number is HVR676890 / 9036096.

Does anyone have lying around that they might sell me?

R

I used to have them before my garage got cleared, I might have a few knocking around in the loft, I will look for you but don't hold your breath, Hotpoint/Zanussi used this style aswell and maybe others.

A photo might help other people, they do vary as to what temps they have, ie. 40/50 40/60 30/40

re

Gary that would be fantastic. Thank-you. It is a 30/40 stat with a violet spot. I spent an hour trying to use a single stage stat to activate the 40 degree and bypass the 30 but it doesnt appear to work. Damn!!

Please let me know how you get on....

Hello I found one a yellow/green spot one but it is duff on both themostats, all my spares went to Mats in Cardiff, I know have these there as I stripped a lot of hoovers that used these.

In the mean time just keep a search running on ebay for them, you never know what will turn up on there.

Good luck
Gary

Just a thought could you not use the 30o for the time being?

Pricey

I have just found two places that list them as available not exactly cheap though, £18.99 + what ever, on the other hand its not a lot of money to get a machine running perfectly again

Thanks Gary but...

Gary,
Thanks so much for having a check through your remaining parts and even for testing them. Shame nothing's turned up though - I hope another Hoover owner (or repairer) has one on a dusty shelf somewhere.

I too found the new ones, advertised online for around £18. The problem is, they all link of the same source, which says they are out of stock. Further calls reveal it unlikely stock will be replenished.

I've attached a few pics (hope it works!) to show not only the offending thermostat (the violet spot is just visible) but also I think that, especially as I have replaced the bearings, heater, pump and door seal, the machine is a bit too clean to give up on but it's taking up space and is no use to me not working...

Can anyone assist?

R

Think I've found a pair

Hi R

I've got a pair off an ecologic 1200, though they are black, one has a purple spot, the other red, I have to assume they work as it was a working but very run down machine they came off. If your still in need and think these would work, send me an email with a postal address and you can have them.

Mathew
