I remember what happened when I moved the 63 Frigidaire Deluxe Rollermatic washer on its back - I lost just about all of the oil out of the transmission!

Is there a safe way to move an earlier Unimatic washer on either side or its back?   The machine will only have to travel a few miles and would be in that position for no more than a half hour or so.

I thought there was something like that.  Thanks, Jon!!

I guess everyone's figured out what's next now... LOL   Fear not - more details will follow this weekend, assuming we can finish the garage ceiling.

The vent tube is on the right side of transmission housing when looking at front of washer, so lay it on it's LEFT side.

And get down HERE for a visit!  LOL

Made it!  Eventually...   It was quite the ordeal, but I took photos and I'll probably start a new thread on this sometime later tomorrow.  But YAY!  I got me some new toys to play with!!
