These may be cool, but without seeing them in a kitchen, you need a good look or an old Kelvinator cupboard ad.

encyclopedia of all the film sets myself. My brain started to hurt from obsessing over it all. But isn't it amazing how some of us can have instant recall/reference for this stuff but cannot remember what yesterday's meal was?

It's Part of What I Do:

The things seen on movie sets are a professional interest of mine - I'm currently working on a book project about the subject.

I enjoy finding duplicates of movie items; I have a number of things identical to ones used in Hitchcock's Vertigo. I have an "M" like the one Mary Richards had on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and an "etc" like the one Rhoda had. I've had a great time identifying all the set elements from the kitchen in Letter to Three Wives, to help a friend collect them.

At one point, I had the toaster from Rosemary's Baby, but it died. I would love having an Amana 25 like the one seen on The Bob Newhart Show.

I'm presently looking for the stereo from Rosemary's Baby! See below:

Sandy, that's fantastic!

$400 is cheap for that set of Kelvinators. I love that look; it's so streamlined!

I Forgot:

I also have the canisters the Ricardos got when they moved to Connecticut. The matching breadbox, partially hidden here by Lucy's regrettable hat, continues to elude me:

That's seriously awesome. I tend to shop out of vintage catalogs. I have roughly 10 years of Bennett Blue Books that I scour for stuff. :)

Re Kelvinators..

These were made by Morton Company of Chicago, and sold mainly by Kelvinator/Leonard dealers, sort of a private label, in my hometown there are several houses with them, the deluxe ones have a flourescent light built into the bottom of the upper cabinets, with a glass plate over the lamp, so it both illuminates the counter top and the inside of the cabinet, also, underneath where the light is is a convience outlet and an individual switch for the light!

Yikes that is a beautiful and complete set... I hope you make the trip to get them!

And Sandy, that is quite a collection... and data base! If only we knew now what we had in the day... my parents had that set of canisters, but I believe it fell victim to a cleaning out and reducing action (similar to the subject of another thread in the Super forum).

movie sets

I have the Zenith combo console (TOL) seen in "The Omen". (Ambassador's house)

Not so much because I'm a fan of the movie, lol. Just noticed it in the background. :-)
