I am always happy to pay a reasonable amount for a machine if its worth it and personally I find this is not.
However part of the advert I find quite insulting!
"You are bidding on a very old almost an antique Hoovermatic collectable washing machine, people actually collect these things, unfortunately this machine is none operational and would be perfect for someone to restore back to its former glory",

As its starting at £95 this collector will not be bidding on it!!

Hi Austin,

That is a bit steep for a "non-operational" machine..whilst they are rare due to their limited production life, i still wouldn't pay that.

I have got one, but am thinking of breaking it down to use parts for my 3309L.

Cheers
Keith

Hi Mike,

I did have a 3310E but got rid of before I moved, I picked up a slightly knackered 3301L, it is currently residing at my mum's..not sure what to do with it apart from scrap it for parts.

Not sure what you are going on about reference the Hotpoint, I never contacted the seller of the Hotpoint as I have a late 1400 with blue fitments and don't require another..Teamplayer ????

Still more Hoovermatics

This one has just shown up on ebay - surprisingly although older, probably more common than the 3301 of this thread

"#teamplayer" Really..?

whispermatic's profile picture
Since joining this site I have been struck by how generous and kind the majority of people are on here. Not least "Keymatic" from Surrey and "Keymatic3203" who have offered advice and even parts without charge to me, a complete stranger. It was very refreshing to be on a site that did not resort to the usual cowardly armchair comments prevalent on most forums. Unfortunately the "#teamplayer" etc comments posted earlier in this thread seems to have resorted to just that, and certainly have no place here. This site is for people who share a common passion and it is very disappointing to see an example of such inappropriate comments tainting an otherwise remarkable site. Back to the machines!

All this teamplayer talk must be a code of some sort?

I could kick myself as I had one of these very machines a few years back and traded it for a Hoover 1100 the first model.

Still how was I to know it was going to become such a rarity???

Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

Hi Jensen, I`m glad you have received the kinda help from other members that these forums pride themselves on delivering, I realise now that my course of action should have been (and will be) to contact Keith directly and discuss issues with him and not resort to commenting openly here.

For that I apologise both to Keith for bringing the issue up here and to all of you for having to witness it.

It is indeed all about the appliances, commeradary, the meet ups, swapping of information, the sourcing / helping each other with spare parts when needed and sharing a common passion and hobbie.

Now back to the appliances!!

Dear All,

With reference to the machine which originally started this thread, as I have a 3301L and am thinking of breaking it down as it is sadly past repair - if any member wins the current machine that is on ebay and needs any parts i will be happy to try and assist.
Regards
Keith

Long Live The Hoovermatics!

Hi Mike,
No problem at all, thanks for your message.
For the record, there is one other 3301L that I know of, still in regular use... It was owned by my grandmother from new in 1966 and she donated it to her local church in Cambridge sometime in 1988. Since then it has been in regular use in the church hall washing tablecloths and the like. 47 years of service is pretty incredible!

I believe the rarity of the machine was due to its short run of manufacture maybe some other members know other reasons and will chip in ??

Hoovermatic size? (apologies for being a bit off topic)

I've done the silliest thing and bought a Hoovermatic... God only knows why? - a flashback thing from my childhood I guess! I've got to have it shipped and have no idea of the size of it.. Can someone please give me a rough guestimate of its dimensions and weight please? I need to tell the shippers what they're dealing with ASAP!

I'm guessing 36" wide 22" deep and 30"high and 80lbs in weight? I haven't seen one in 55 or so years and i was a lot smaller then - so my sense of scale has obviously shifted 'cus Mums looked huge.. but then so did my metal rocking horse!

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer!
