Beautiful 1955 RV-70. They don't come much cleaner than this. I believe this was the first year for Heat Minder, and possibly Speed Heat.
I don't own a home today with the provisions for a 40 inch range. If I did, it would be filled with one of these. Ben This post was last edited 09/04/2014 at 21:22 |

Speed heat and Heat minder both debuted in 1955.
'All models will be available in White Porcelain finish. In addition, exterior colors of Stratford Yellow and Sherwood Green will be optional on seven models-the RV-25, RV-25G, RV-38, RV-38G, RV-60, RV-70, and RV-70G. Ranges with colored exteriors will be identified, as in the past, by number suffixes-"1" to identify yellow and "2" to identify green.'
The Speed heat and Heat minder were ONLY available on four 40" models that year. |

Ah-WAH! stunning ! I am always curious as to how the colors look, Sherwood Green, for instance. I found this from an old 2004 aw.org thread, in case anyone is wondering about that color. Here's golittlesport(Rich) showing off his 1955 Frigidaire Sherwood Green dryer(filtrator?). I can't find a Stratford yellow Frigidaire applaince, but maybe somebody has an example appliance photo? I just found a paint sample.

ovrphil, could you tell us about that paint chip card? If that has the paint chips for the pastel colors by brand I would love to have one. Where did you get it? I know monitors are all different but, gee that is an awfully neat thing to have. |
