Newbie seeking advice on unidentified wringer washer 		[Down to Last]

My wonderful daughters bought me a wringer washer for my birthday!
The trouble is I cannot figure out the maker or age. I have had several family members scouring the web trying to figure it out. I have posted several pictures below. It does agitate and rollers do turn, but I cannot figure out how to release the wringer assembly to swing away from the tub. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This washer is a Westinghouse..... you can see the Westinghouse W on the first picture!

Or at least the motor is a Westinghouse.

congratulations!

 Your best resource for finding information about this machine is Lee Maxwell who has a museum of pre-automatic washers. Google his name and there are sites that will have photos of wringer washers. The agitator is probably the most distinctive part of the machine so pay attention to the agitators in the pictures. If you find one that looks like yours with the perforated vanes, it will probably be the same brand of machine as yours.

Thank you, I assumed the motor was Westinghouse, but all the searches I have done
of Westinghouse wringers could not find one like this. I will try the web site you suggested. Again thanks for the help. I will post back if I find anything definite, at the very least it's cool looking.

The agitator says Philco, but because it is so old, I'll venture Dexter... Kind of the same company...

wringer washer

 I am sure it is a Westinghouse ! I have one very much like it. The word Westinghouse was just a paper sticker on the front of the tub. Over time with the water sloshing over the rim the sticker just melted away. It has a very vigorous washing action. To swing the wringer push the lever just under the wringer gear box toward the wringer post, this should allow you to swing the wringer around. It only has a few places it will stop and lock. Jeb
