I don't remember seeing so many buttons on an Americana, whatever year it sprouted from.

GE used that upper story into the '70s, but the cooktop/lower oven detailing is earlier. GE redesigned the cooktop and the front portion containing the P*7 latch lever for lower manufacturing costs sometime around '71.

The pushbutton controls were only on MOL units by '71; the TOL Americanas had all-rotary controls by that time.

I've decided those rotary controls are my preferred for this stove; would a cat push those buttons, thinking it would open the oven door for a treat?
