So here's the scoop. This dryer was on ebay in December. Bid on it, was outbid. I wanted it because I have 1&1/2 of the matching washer, which is going to be restored with in Omaha this spring. Didn't think too much of loosing the bid until one night during a late night conversation with Greg he told me that this dryer was somewhat rare, because of the lines on the glass. I didn't know that and was kicking myself for not bidding more. Within two days it was on ebay again because the winner did not pay. I bid again and was the only bidder. It sold for $100.00 less than the first time. Kinda sux for the seller! So it arrived this week and works like a charm-quiet as they say it is! Now I am excited about the upcoming restoration of the washer. Notice the label still on the top of the dryer? It mentions that there was a dryer sprinkler for this, anyone have one for sale? And as always, I am looking for the owners manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Don, I love that "Automatic Dryer" lettering on the front...my AMP has the same but it's "Automatic Washer" of course! What year would this one be (I'm guessing 1957 or 1958?), and what makes it so rare? |

Congratulations on finding this Don,and getting the second chance to own it. Like Maytag washers, their dryers are a very solid, quiet machine. They make a wonderful set,and everyone has to love the look of the classic center timer Maytags. I own this set from 1958. Well.....at least they were down there the last time I looked!!! (: |
